Many visitors think that the interior of the UFO Observation Tower rotates, but the truth is that the floor, or any part of it, has never moved. The myth has been circulating for decades, but the tower was never designed to allow for such movement.
A unique lighting system on the Tower’s dome signals the weather forecast for the following day: yellow = sunny weather, red = windy, blue = precipitation, green = fog
The lift in the UFO Observation Tower is not a common one – it is a cable car system that overcomes an angle of 16 degrees during the ride. Interestingly, the lift’s drive was transported to the dome by helicopter.
In ideal weather conditions, the visibility from the observation deck can be up to 100 km. Visitors can thus distinguish, for example, Nitra’s Zobor Hill.
The UFO Observation Tower is an iconic engagement spot in Bratislava. Thanks to its panoramic view of the Danube and the historic centre, an average of three couples get engaged here every week.
